With a nearly 20-year history and deep experience in investing VMG Partners had established a strong foothold in the investment world with a proven track record of successful exits including CPG heavyweights like KIND, DrunkElephant, Justin’s, and Sun Bum. In 2019, they expanded their focus to include consumer technology and commerce enablement.
By 2022, VMG Partners had reached a key inflection point. Their visuals were struggling to tell a clear and compelling story, especially to technology entrepreneurs who knew VMG only for their consumer fund. The brand needed to build greater relevance to new audiences and honor historic equities while modernizing the brand.

The new brand visuals adopt a neutral look when paired with their portfolio companies and a more expressive and dynamic look in VMG-centric applications. The brand colors were inspired by The Presidio in San Francisco, where VMG's first office is located.
In addition to a new brand identity, the project also included a redesigned website and digital brand guidelines.
